Expresso self. No seriously, whether it’s taking a shot of expresso or expressing individual tastes through fashion, fall is the perfect time to do either.  With fall comes along new trends that girls are able to experiment by adding their own personal taste.  The opportunities are endless for fall fashion, from booties to cardigans to scarves.

Senior Emma League says that it is easier to “dress more stylish because of the ability to layer.”  Layers can include anything clothing item from fuzzy socks to furry vests.  The south is known for its wonderful weather, despite the bipolar nature.  It could be freezing in the morning and blazing in the afternoon on the same day, so layers are the perfect solution.  You can expect to see flannels and puffy vests in the mornings and then light sweaters and gingham collars during the afternoons.

One of the biggest cravings this fall is chokers; it’s very likely that any clothing store you walk into will have them for sale.  This throwback 90s trend is very flattering and can be dressed up or down.  There has also been an increase in blue jean skirts, and whether you wear a casual tee with them or a fancy sweater, they are sure to be stylish.  Bell sleeve tops and dresses always add something extra to an outfit, not to mention how cute they are to spin in.

As far as colors go, monochromatic soothes the eye.  Black booties and black skinny jeans paired with a simple grey top is the way to go.  Warm colors – violets and browns for example -are also great colors to set the tone for fall.

Trends are fabulous to wear but tend to go out of style after they’re overused.  Hands down, the best advice is to stick to the classics, but more importantly, your unique style.  Nothing says confidence like a girl who can work an outfit she likes without the approval of her peers.
