Mrs. Lori Mason is a teacher at Travelers Rest. She teaches English 2 Honors, English 3, AP Language, and Teacher Cadet. She has been a teacher for 25 years, all at TR. When asked who inspired her to be a teacher, she responded with, “My aunt was a teacher in Florida and I grew up listening to her tell stories.” From then on, she knew that she wanted to be a teacher.  When Mrs. Mason was little, she would “teach” her stuffed animals who played the role of students.

When asked if she thought the education system could improve, Mrs. Mason said, “I wish students would understand the more they read, even if it’s something not assigned by a teacher, the more they know and the more they can learn.” She enjoys reading, her favorite book is Pride and Prejudice.
