Travelers Rest is getting its own version of ESPN with the Devildogs Sports Network (DSN).  This returning program is a way of communicating TRHS sports successes to the community through live broadcasts.

The network members are senior Shaun Forrester, juniors Mel Norton, Carter Vickers, Josh Kemp, and sophomore Josh Lipscomb.  Their ultimate purpose is to report on school sports and their athletic accomplishments.

The Devildogs Sports Network was originally created in 2015 by Matt DeHart (class of 2014) and later run by Alex Dodd (class of 2016). The boys reported on all TRHS sports, but the network died once the boys graduated. Norton says, “Carter and I had the idea to bring the network back when the past members Alex Dodd and Matt DeHart left Travelers Rest.”

TRHS junior Vickers says, “I enjoy being able to grow in reviewing the sports and hope to broadcast Devildog Sports to every corner of the globe.”

Their first live broadcast will be held at the TRHS basketball home opener on Friday Dec. 1 against Berea High School. You can access their network on YouTube at Devildogs Sports Network  to stay updated with all TRHS games.
