Everything Eclipse
On August 21, 2017, ‘The Great American Eclipse’ gave the world a truly unique sight. Many Americans were lucky enough to find themselves in the complete path of totality, and experienced 2.5 minutes of total blackout. But South Carolina made sure to make memories of the historic day.
In Anderson SC, there was a mass wedding ceremony of six couples. Blue Jar Barn hosted the ceremony for couples, including Vanessa Palacios and Josh Skierski- who made the trip all the way from Atlanta, GA.
Also, a baby was born in Greenville and was named in honor of the rare solar marvel, her birth name now Eclipse Eubanks. Her mother, Freedom Eubanks, is very happy that her baby was born on such an important day. She told CNN, “It kind of still feels like it’s not real.”
The next total solar eclipse will pass through Kentucky in 2024. However, you’ll have to wait until 2078 to see the next eclipse if you are not planning on leaving South Carolina.
