Giving reality a new meaning
It was a win-win situation for older sister Shay Shull when she signed her brother, Sean Lowe, up for The Bachelorette. After placing third and becoming a fan favorite, Lowe was given the opportunity to become The Bachelor and eventually find his love, Catherine Giudici.
With her brother’s fame, her blog received more attention than ever before. However, Shull devoted much of her time publishing lifestyle blogs long before Lowe was ever The Bachelor.
Playing cupid is just one of Shull’s many talents – she also manages to balance her time writing cookbooks, blogging, running a travel agency, being a wife, and mom to four children.
Shull started the blog out of a love for food and deserts, baking bundt cakes to be exact. In March of 2016, she released one of her newest cookbooks Mix & Match Cakes, a collection of 101 different recipes for wow-worthy bundt cakes. Shull believes that experimenting with cooking provides a way “to have fun in the kitchen and enjoy more home-cooked meals and quality time with your family.”
“Supermom” is a very fitting description of Shull. Throughout her Instagram and blog, it is clear that Shull’s goal is to make each and every day an adventure for her children. From baking special treats to walks in the park, she makes the mom role seem easy and fun. For example, each summer Shull helps her kids create a summer bucket list where they come up with ideas such as backyard camping and trips to the Dallas Aquarium.
A huge portion of her blog deals with adoption, as she has now adopted two girls from China. Before she had her two biological children, Kensington and Smith, Shull and her husband Andrew struggled with infertility. Through these topics, Shull is able to inspire thousands of mothers with each piece she writes. She took her subscribers on a journey with their first adoption of Ashby but surprised the public with their second adoption of Madeley.
Shull’s blog is a great source for any aspiring moms looking to spice up their day-to-day lives.
