This previous week TR had its annual homecoming week. Each year we host a homecoming parade, dance, and game to show our school spirit. This year homecoming was hosted first on September 30th. Sunday each grade level started construction on their floats for Downtown TR’s parade. This years theme was “Devildogs through the Seasons”. Seniors got fall, juniors were summer, sophomores did winter, and the freshman did spring. Monday was tacky tourist and students dressed up with a hawaiian theme. The first clues for the rock were announced and students began looking. Tuesday came and students wore their Christmas pajamas as more clues were given and floats were built. Wednesday was the last day before the parade and was American out. Each grade was finishing up the floats and making last minute details before the parade. Thursday was college game day at school and shortly after at 6 pm the floats were riding downtown. Hundreds of people were on the sides of main street from Hardee’s to the High school to watch the parade. Friday came and students were all decked out in their grade level colors. The pep rally began and all the grades competed for the spirit stick. In the finals were the freshman, juniors and seniors. The seniors took the win for the spirit stick but the juniors found the rock and turned it into Principal Bruce. Homecoming court occured right before the football game and this years homecoming queen and king are Jocelyn Beddingfield and Carson McLees. The devildogs crushed the homecoming game with a huge victory of 44-14 against the Carolina Trojans! Overall the junior class won this homecoming week for the 2023 homecoming week.
