Merry Kissmas

Kiss 95.1 created a mash up of a variety of artists for their annual Kissmas concert held in Charlotte. This year, JoJo, Charli XCX, Hailee Steinfield, Alessia Cara, DNCE, and Shawn Mendes were some of the featured artists.

JoJo started off the night, with Shawn Mendes ending the night four hours later.  Each artist was given around half an hour to wow the crowd, which amounted to four songs.   From Charli XCX’s “Boom Clap,” to Alessia Cara’s “Here,” to Shawn Mendes’ “Mercy,” the audience loved each one and sang along, which made for a great atmosphere.

DNCE made quite the show, dressing in bright, colorful, out of this world outfits – which perfectly describes their personalities as a group. And of course, they couldn’t leave the stage without singing one of their most popular songs, “Cake by the Ocean.”

Between each artist, there was nearly a 30-minute break, to give the staff a chance to rearrange the stage that fit specific to the next artist.  While this allowed the audience to sit down and rest, it was almost too long.  The time spent waiting prolonged the concert, making it ending later than it could’ve been. And saving extra time between each artist would’ve allowed the artists to sing more.

Overall, the 2016 Kissmas concert was a hit.  Kiss 95.1 did a great job with creating a range of a mix of new artists, old artists, new hits and old classics.
