Supply Stop Starts Sensationally

Supplies available at The Supply Stop

The IB Diploma Programme is working hard to make school life easier in the 2018-2019 school year. One way that these students are serving the school is through the introduction of The Supply Stop. The Supply Stop is a a place where any student or teacher who needs supplies can take what they need, free of charge.

Dr. Strictland, TR’s IB coordinator, says that though she is the coordinator, the seniors are the ones who really run the store.

Kylie Simms and Amber Turner are both IB seniors who have worked to make The Supply Stop a reality. “The purpose of the store is to reach out to people who may not have supplies or the ability to get them, people in need. The idea is to do it all year so as people run out of paper and things, they can come in and get more,” Simms says. “We aren’t excluding anyone. Anyone is welcome. We won’t ask you ‘do you really need this?’ You’re welcome here,” Turner adds.

The Supply Stop is open to everyone during power hour, and the IB students encourage anyone in need to get supplies. Anyone can also donate supplies or money, checks made out to Travelers Rest High School.
