Girls before match against Pickens

The Lady Devildog tennis season is wrapping up quick in the second round of playoffs and the team is working hard to advance. The girls have taken their sixth region title and are now in their championship matches.

After such a successful season, the girls are looking at what will come next. With six of the eight girls being seniors, the team will be left with only two returning players. The team will need to add at least five girls to have a full team. Coach Corley says, “The team is really looking for anyone who is interested in learning about the sport, even if they have no experience.”

This year, the girls welcomed two new seniors, Jessica Monroe and Peyton Nease. Both girls had little knowledge on the sport, but they came out and helped the ladies continue their winning streak. Jessica Monroe, a senior, says, “Even though I had no prior knowledge about tennis, I was treated as family and felt so included and welcomed.”

Coach Corley wants to encourage anyone who is interested in the sport to come and check out what the Lady Devildogs tennis team is all about. Next year, the team plans to hold a spring clinic for any new players. If you are interested in joining the team next season, please contact Coach Corley at [email protected].
