On Friday, August 26th the (0-1) Devildogs hosted the (0-1) Wade Hampton Generals at Chico Bolin Stadium for a non-region game. The stands were packed with parents, the band, and the student section. The student section theme for this game was “Hawaiian out” and the students showed up and showed out with support for the Devildogs. The weather held the game back for an hour after the first quarter but did continue after.
The kickoff began at 7:30. The Devildogs and the Generals had fans on their toes during the first quarter. Going back and forth for the whole quarter, the score remained 0-0. Lightning flashed across the sky and delayed the game for an hour. Coming back out, the Generals stole the lead and ended the half 28-7 Wade. Halftime rolls around and two TR players are out injured. The Devildogs succeeded in scoring more in the 3rd quarter. TR kept fighting, but by the end of the 3rd quarter, the score is 42-21 wade. The final quarter came to an end and the Devildogs came short 49-28. This is the General’s first win since 2018.
(0-2) Travelers Rest will travel to Palmetto Friday, September 2nd to take on the Mustangs. Good luck to the boys and go Devildogs!
