The audience applauds the band

On Dec 18, the TRHS band presented their winter concert at Patricia Hunt Auditorium. The performance was filled with a plethora of beautiful sounds that captured the audience. The Christmas-styled symphony expressed Christmas in a unique way, while focusing on a variety of sounds and instruments.

Band Director Mr. Carl Wiley proceeded to provide information about each song between performances. This added a touch of depth to the concert by connecting the audience with the songs.

Senior Sebastian Loaiza added, “It’s been a blast. Seeing everyone improve over the past four years is a really amazing thing. And I would have to say the winter concert is my favorite at least. Something about Christmas music just makes it a little more special.” As the high school band played the crowd’s childhood favorites, the musicians created a festive, Christmas feeling.

To conclude the show, the band put on Santa hats as they played “A Christmas Intrada,” “Jingle Bells Fantasy,” “Sleepers Wake,” “Sleigh Ride,” “Greensleeves,” and “Christmas Festival.” This mixture of songs presented a truly unique Devildog Christmas show.
