The yearbook staff of Travelers Rest High School received the All-State evaluation rating on their 2015-2016 yearbook. Carolyn Sutton, first-year advisor, led them to the highest award. She is the only first-year advisor to win this honor in South Carolina, and just six yearbooks in the state received this rating. The yearbook earned All-State on all six grading sections of the evaluation. The grading includes reader services, coverage (including many people in the yearbook), writing/editing, layout/design, photography, and special touches. They nicely tied together their theme of FocUS, as commented by the judges.

This year, the yearbook staff continues to strive for excellence and celebrate last year’s achievement. This is Sutton’s second year as a teacher at TRHS, and she has already accomplished much. Sutton says the team worked hard on coverage and incorporating the theme. “The award shows how hard my students work; I have to give credit to the editors and staff,” Sutton says. She wanted to give Luke Samples, Jostens representative, credit as well. The 2016-2017 yearbook staff is already working hard on the next yearbook and will keep striving for greatness.
