Fantasy Football Tips

It’s always fun to beat your friends at something and Fantasy Football is a great way to do just that. It is not an easy task to learn though. Fantasy Football is an electronic version of actual NFL football where you draft players and set a lineup. And to play the game, there are different playing styles and strategies.

Most players fall into the category of being the “the hometown hero,” which means you are just playing because your friends want you to and you don’t really care about Fantasy Football. Then you have people whose life is Fantasy Football and they’re on the app all day looking for good pick-ups off the waiver wire and are working towards any trades they need to make.

Either way, the key to having a good team is being strategic at the draft. All positions are important but running backs and wide receivers supply you with most of your points from week to week. Therefore, your first couple round picks should be RB’s and WR’s before picking up QB’s and TE’s.

Here are some important things to remember while you’re drafting:

  • Keep your eye on the Injured reserve When a player gets hurt they get put on the IR but some injuries aren’t season long but most people drop hurt players so if a very good player is coming back this week it smart to pick them up.
  • Running backs and Wide receivers are important In your lineup every week you get to have two running backs and two wide receivers and they score a lot of points from week to week.
  • Have a plan(cheat sheet) It is smart to have a sheet of the players you want to draft while you’re drafting so you don’t forget who you want to draft.
  • Bye weeks are important When players have bye weeks they get zero points so you need a different player to fill their spot during the bye week.
  • QB’s are middle round picks You need to draft wide receivers and running backs in the early rounds, then QB’s.

The way you draft will reflect the type of player you will be. There are various types of players from people who are very invested in the league and try to make trades everyday, to those who don’t even set up their lineup from week to week. Once you have figured out your playing style, you need to get ready to win your league.
